Intraoral Imaging

Intraoral imaging provides both the dentist and the patient with a clearer look at the dental problems. Images are obtained by a small camera tipped wand and are visible on the screen with the simple press of a button.
The use of an intraoral camera serves numerous purposes:

  • Patients are instantly able to view problematic areas occurring in their mouth.
  • Diagnosis and treatment options are more easily understood by viewing a clear and magnified image of the tooth.
  • Intraoral images are saved in each individual’s chart, allowing for progression to be noted over time.
  • The images are also valuable in assisting the dentist in communicating with the insurance companies as well as other practitioners.
